Notification of changes - associations

Associations entered in the PRH Register of Associations file their notifications of changes with the Register of Associations. If an association is registered at the Finnish Trade Register, it must also file a notification of changes with the Trade Register.

In addition, all customers of the Finnish Tax Administration must file their changes with the Tax Administration.

Report changes to the Register of Associations

A registered association must file a notification of changes with the Register of Associations, when:

  • the address or contact details of the association change;
  • the chairperson or persons entitled to sign for the association change; or
  • the association’s rules change.

Change of address and contact details

An association must report either a postal address or a street address. The association may also submit other contact details, such as phone number, email address, and website address.

File the notification of changes to the address and contact details with the PRH Register of Associations either online or by using paper form Y4a. The updated details are forwarded to the Business Information System (BIS).

Use paper form 6214 to file the change of address with the Tax Administration. It is not yet possible to file this notification online.

You will find the forms and instructions at the end of this page. First, save the form to your computer to be able to fill it in. Fill in the form – either in Finnish or in Swedish – on your computer, then print it at A4 size, and send it to the address given on the form.

Changes to the chairperson, persons entitled to sign for the association, and rules

When the executive committee and persons entitled to sign for the association change or when the association rules change, file a notification of changes with the PRH Register of Associations. Report changes to the Tax Administration

An association that is a customer of the Tax Administration must report on several changes in its activity separately to the Tax Administration.

It is not yet possible to submit this notification online.

Filing notifications with the Tax Administration is free of charge.

The changes that must be filed with the Tax Administration using the appendix form 6214 are:

  • change to address and contact details;
  • change to the company name;
  • change to the financial period;
  • change to the municipality where the association is based (domicile, home municipality);
  • change to the line of business;
  • changes to the VAT Register, Prepayment Register, and Employer Register; or
  • starting business activities.

If an association has been issued a Business ID and it wants to register as a customer of the Tax Administration for the first time, it must register using the appendix form 6214 of the Tax Administration.

Even if it is possible to file changes with the PRH Register of Associations online, please note that you must file all notifications with the Tax Administration using paper forms. You will find the forms and instructions at the end of this page.

Report changes to the Trade Register

File all changes and possible additions to the association’s details entered in the Trade Register without delay. A notification of changes must be filed for example when the association’s domicile or name entered in the Register of Association has changed.

You will find the forms and instructions at the end of this page. Select the forms you need and fill them in – either in Finnish or in Swedish – on your computer, then print them at A4 size, and send them to the address given on the form.

Please fill in the forms in Finnish or in Swedish.

  • To file changes only with the Tax Administration, or changes to address or contact details only, use form Y4.
  • To file most common changes with the Trade Register, use form Y4, Appendix Form 14 in Finnish or in Swedish, and the Personal Data Form.
