Notification of changes - religious communities and local communities

Religious communities and their local communities must file a notification of changes with the Register of Religious Communities maintained by the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH).

Use paper forms to file the notification. Please note that the forms are only available in Finnish and Swedish. You will find the forms at the end of this page.

Filing a change of address is free of charge. For all other notifications of changes, we charge a handling fee.

File a notification with the PRH about the following changes:

  • change to the address;
  • change to the persons entitled to sign for the community;
  • change to a register entry about the executive committee;
  • change to the bylaws of the religious community; and
  • change to the local rules of a local community.

The changes filed with the Register of Religious Communities are not forwarded to the Finnish Tax Administration. You have to file a separate notification to the Tax Administration.

Report changes to the Tax Administration

A religious community that is a customer of the Tax Administration must report on several changes in its activity separately to the Tax Administration.

It is not yet possible to submit this notification online.

Filing notifications with the Tax Administration is free of charge.

The changes that must be filed with the Tax Administration using the appendix form 6214 are:

  • change to address and contact details;
  • change to the company name;
  • change to the financial period;
  • change to the municipality where the community is based (domicile, home municipality);
  • change to the line of business;
  • changes to the VAT Register, Prepayment Register and Employer Register; and
  • starting business activities.

If a religious community has been issued a Business ID and it wants to register as a customer of the Tax Administration for the first time, the community must register using the appendix form 6214 of the Tax Administration.

Please note that you must file all notifications with the Tax Administration using paper forms. You will find the forms and instructions at the end of this page.

First, save the form to your computer to be able to fill it in. Fill in the form – either in Finnish or in Swedish – on your computer, then print it at A4 size, and send it to the address given on the form.
